Nor’easter Nov. 7-8: gusty winds, coastal flooding and chilly air

Strong winds, coastal flooding, chilly air and rain are possible this week, as a coastal nor'easter is expected, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is expected to affect the region Wednesday and Thursday, according to the agency's Mount Holly office.

Following are some of the potential impacts and other details, according to a 1 p.m. weather briefing:

- Wind gusts of 45 mph to 55 mph are possible, with the strongest winds closest to the Atlantic coast.

- Moderate coastal flooding is possible along New Jersey's Atlantic coast. High tides Weds.  and Weds. night are the ones to watch.

- Waves in surf zone will be 7 to 9 feet high, and moderate beach erosion is possible.

- 1 to 2 inches of precipitation - mainly rain - is expected, with the highest amounts closest to the Atlantic Coast. It's too soon to forecast snowfall totals, with snow possible in northern New Jersey.

- Wind chill values will be in the 20s and 30s for much of the region during the height of the storm.
